Our Work
At Orchards, we empower women with experiences of sexual exploitation. We also provide training, work with local churches, and collaborate with our partners to walk alongside women on their journey from exit to independent living.

In partnership withLocal Churches
The local church is central to our work, increasing the breadth of support we are able to offer to women. Some of the core support women receive is run by Orchards, some by our church partners.
-
One-bedroom safe housing linked to a local church for 9-12 months; a place women can call home, that is safe, and that provides them with a stable base from which to take steps forward in their lives
Weekly individual sessions with a Support Worker, with a tailored and holistic support plan focussing on physical and emotional health, legal and financial support, employment and training
Opportunities to access employment and training placements with our wonderful partners, giving a sense of purpose and hope for the future
Weekly counselling session with a trained counsellor specialised in sexual trauma; a space for women to process the trauma they have experienced.
-
Opportunities for women to connect with in-house ministries such as debt centres, job clubs, money courses and voluntary placements.
Relational support from an Alongside Volunteer (Befriender)
Opportunities to get involved in the life of the church, if women would like to.
We support women of all faiths and none. While there are opportunities for women to be invited to church and events provided by the church, it is always the choice of the woman how she engages and Orchards' support is given unconditionally. We work with the local church on safeguarding and pastorally supporting women who choose to get involved with the life of the church.
Growing understandingTraining
We recognise that it is not enough to just support women exiting sexually exploitative situations – we are committed to changing the context in which sexual exploitation occurs. We provide bespoke training sessions on understanding sexual exploitation, providing sustainable routes out for women.
We will equip your organisation or faith group to work effectively with survivors of sexual exploitation and grow in your understanding of these issues. Contact us to see how we can support you.
