Direct support for women

At Orchards you can access support through our two main pathways: safe housing and counselling.

Orchards provides

  • One-bedroom safe housing linked to a local church for 9-12 months; a place women can call home, that is safe, and that enables them to have independence to start their new life

  • Weekly individual sessions with a Support Worker, with a tailored and holistic support plan focussing on physical and emotional health, legal and financial support, employment and training 

  • Opportunities to access employment and training placements with our wonderful partners such as Luminary Bakery and Holos; giving a sense of purpose and hope for the future

  • Weekly counselling session with a trained counsellor specialised in sexual trauma; a space for women to process the trauma they have experienced. For more information see our counselling leaflet.

Our church partners provides

  • Opportunities for women to connect with church community and in-house ministries such as debt centres, job clubs, money courses and voluntary placements.

  • Relational support from an Alongside Volunteer (Befriender

  • Opportunities to get involved in the life of the church, if women would like to.
